Trendi hung up and called her next client to the chair and the remainder of the day flew by. Six hours had flown by without her being able to barely take a breather. Deja was out sick but the stylists were holding their own for the day. Shoot let me call Jazz real fast. I'm starving! Another hour and I'm out this bitch for the night! Trendi thought pressing speed dial to Jazzlyn.

“ Oooweee! Is that Darien with his fine ass?”

Trendi heard two of her clients say as her brother walked in the shop.

“ Hey Jazz! Girl I was just calling to say I'll be out of here in an hour. Are you okay? You sound funny? Are you sure? Well lay down girl I'll be over in the next hour.” Trendi said hanging up the phone.

“ What's going on Darien?”

“ Trent...Trendi you gotta lot of nerve asking me that the way you been blowing my phone up. Damn here is your rent money! I think you need to lower the amount you making me pay too! I don't hardly even sleep there.”

“ Well when hardly none of your shit is taking up my spare bedroom we can talk. Till then pay up!” Trendi said counting the money.

“ Hold up playboy...you're seventy-five dollars short for your part of the utilities.”

“ Damn Trendi!”

“ Pay up!” Trendi said waggling her fingers at him.

Darien walked over pulling his wallet back out.

“ Stop waving those big ass man hands at me. You ain’t right Trendi. You know damn well I ain’t got my first check yet.” Darien said frowning.

“ Well it's coming so you'll be okay. At least you can safely say you have a roof over your head at night. Instead of acting like you need to lay up with these temporary ho's! You really messed up with Jazzlyn. I ain’t never gonna stop feeling some type of way about that. Life goes on though my girl is doing good.”

“Whatever. Bye.”

“Darien I do need a favor though. Are you on your way back to the house? Our house?”

“ Yeah for a little while why ?”

“I really wouldn't ask but I just have a funny feeling. Do me a favor and stop by Jazzlyn's place for me real fast.”

“ Fuck that! As much as she's blown me off. That white boy got her mind so blown she wont even listen to reason anymore. She may be speaking to you ...but her brother Antonio called me a few weeks ago. To see what I knew about this white boy she's laid up with!”

“ Darien that is none of your damn business. Just go by there please. She didn't sound right to me and I have this relaxer in this woman's head and the only person here is Sherica's little sister Monica helping out right now. Everyone else has cleared out. Just go by and check. Make sure she answers the door asshole....I'll even give you this little seventy-five dollars back shit!”

Darien held his hand out.
